He is terribly loyal, and is willing to give his life for his beliefs, making him a formidable foe. He is terrified of water however, and cannot swim. Red also never learned how to hunt. || History || Red was born in the loner territories to a she-cat named Maroon, his father having died sometime before his birth. One day, when Maroon was hunting, a pair of Dusk Syndicate cats appeared and they catnapped him, whisking him away to the Dusk Syndicate where he would grow up. He trained with the other cats in his age group, but was always socially awkward around them, making him a bit of an outsider while he somehow remained popular enough to not be targeted by his fellows. When he became a full-fledged fighter, he was on a patrol with Neomora that met Ashstar when ThunderClan was first made aware of the Dusk Syndicate's existence. This had also been Red's first interaction with the clans, and would not be his last. Shortly thereafter, while accompanying Neomora, Red met a loner who Neomora often forced information on the clans out of, Flare, who was speaking with Cedarsprint. Cedarsprint posed as a loner, who Neomora mistakenly or purposefully believed his name was "Cider" and was forced into the Dusk Syndicate as a hunter with Red assigned to mentor him in the ways of the Dusk Syndicate. Fully intent on pleasing his leader, Red accepted the position, and began to educate Cider who was really a spy from RiverClan. Over time, Red began to feel rather confusing affections towards the tom, and felt as if he were being compromised, but was too prideful to say anything about it. Eventually he found out of Cider's real identity, having tracked him to Flare's place worried that Cider was in trouble. Upon realizing that he was in fact, a spy, Red chased him down in a rage, and caught up to him when one of Cedarsprint's coughing fits overtook him. As he learned that Cedarsprint was in fact a clan cat, Red found it difficult to process, and decided that instead of turning him in he would kill Cider to spare him the torture of the Dusk Syndicate. Before he could however, Red was overwhelmed by the memories of their friendship, and decided to spare Cedarsprint in honor of their friendship, however swore that he would kill him if Cedarsprint further betrayed him. Unable to bare that he had just betrayed the organization that was the very purpose of his existence, Red left the Dusk Syndicate in shame and fear, turning to the life of an exile. |
